Can I extend my CIA program
The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) program is changing in several ways. Most notably, candidates can now request a one-year extension to take an exam. Additionally, the waiting period to retake an exam has been shortened from 90 to 30 days. As long as it is still within the program eligibility window, candidates may retake an exam after waiting 30 days.
The CIA exam is not an easy exam to pass and it can take anywhere from 3-7 months to prepare for and pass the exam. If you fail an exam part, you can still expect to pass the exam in about a year.
What age do CIA agents retire?
(1) A voluntary retirement at age 62 with 5 years of service would be eligible for an annual pension of $10,000. The total value of the pension would be $300,000.
(2) A voluntary retirement at age 60 with 30 years of service would be eligible for an annual pension of $20,000. The total value of the pension would be $600,000.
(3) A voluntary retirement at age 50 with 30 years of service, but with actuarial reduction, would be eligible for an annual pension of $14,000. The total value of the pension would be $420,000.
Our twenty years of experience tell us that most students will pass all three Parts of the exam within about one year. This is a general guide though, and some students may take a little longer or a little less time.
